Colonics.. No way!

X ray showing "poop" inside the colon...

I hear what people say behind my back,(and in front) there is NO way I am letting someone stick something up my butt! Ok Ok I get it. It was my first time one time. But that’s ok if you are not ready, but let me have you in on a little secret of those getting colonics, that might not be talking about it. They feel fabulous. They feel instantly refreshed. Your head has clearer thinking and you honestly do feel lighter on your feet ( well and you just lost about 7-10 bowel movements in a single setting)
Did you know that your colon is like the bodies second brain? If it is not functioning then it is sending your whole body very messed up signals. Unfortunately, since we don’t like to talk about it we don’t think about it and forget that a lot of our problems can be coming because the last time you pooped was LAST WEEK! Now some of you are feeling the effects of not going but for others it is old hat to barely go so they begin to forget that they haven’t gone.
But back to the brain thing. Now when you have an upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation etc, what hurts? Not just your stomach but also your head can hurt and also many other parts of your body. When things are not functioning from your mid section it spirals an avalanche of events. The same can be said also for the reverse, when they brain is going crazy so does the gut. Those suffering from depression and anxiety are also likely to experience IBS, and constipation.

“Every time I call the National Institutes of Health to check on a grant proposal,” Gershon said, “I become painfully aware of the influence the brain has on the gut.”
In fact, anyone who has ever felt butterflies in the stomach before giving a speech, a gut feeling that flies in the face of fact or a bout of intestinal urgency the night before an examination has experienced the actions of the dual nervous systems.
The connection between the brains lies at the heart of many woes, physical and psychiatric. Ailments like anxiety, depression, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcers and Parkinson’s disease manifest symptoms at the brain and the gut level.
“The majority of patients with anxiety and depression will also have alterations of their GI function,” said Dr. Emeran Mayer, professor of medicine, physiology and psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles.

So as we step back and take a look at our health and we do recognize the fact that our body is not pooping and we get real with that fact, we also have to understand that common media driven alternatives are not the answer.Ā  Stool softener, laxatives, and harsh colon cleansers are not going to solve the problem in the long term. We need cleansing of the gut, from what “damage” has been done, CLEAN eating and moments of rest and relaxation.Ā  Doing this will ensure that the body is able to get back to its healing ability. And even better, when you get a colonic you are laying down and resting so you can kill two birds with one stone šŸ™‚
