FFF: SeaWeed

Seeweed sheets I was eating today

Ok, lately I have been loving me some seaweed and I am not eating sushi. Plain seaweed, sooo YUM. I have been eating it by the sheets.  I found a new company called SeaSnax and they make yummy bite size sheets that are great for a snack for me or the kids.

Seaweed is a very rich source of minerals that is of course, found in the sea. Most people know of seaweed if they have it in miso soup or under the rice of sushi. It is also rich in protein and vitamins. Seaweed is also a great source of Iodine. Most americans are deficient in Iodine, which will lead to thyroid engorgement, chronic fatigue, intolerance to cold and other symptoms. Since many americans are vitamin and nutrient deficient they are not getting an adequate source in their vegetables and seaweed such as Nori, can help with this deficiency.

So go pick up some Nori sheets today or Kelp flakes  to shake on your salad. You can also get seaweed to add into making beans or in a pot of noodles and the vitamins and minerals will be absorbed in the beans to help them digest better and also give you a great nutrient boost. Give it a try let me know what you think. Most grocery stores will carry it in their asian food section.
