Superfood Series: Spirulina

Again, I know a broken record, we use this everyday, it is in our smoothies raw chocolate and I have even put it on my salad. We love it!

It is a true superfood multi vitamin that provides more nutrition than we know about at this time. This sea vegetable is full of minerals, iodine, protein, and so much more.
I am constantly fascinated by spirulina although I use it all the time. One of the greatest take aways for most non superfood eaters is that it packs 2 g of protein per TEASPOON. This is unheated, raw, pure, easily digested protein. No animal protein can come close to this!

This superfood is a blue green algae that supplied the worlds oxygen over billions of years ago. This powerhouse is so nutrient dense you could survive on just it and water. It is made up of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), linoleic acid, arachidonic acid, vitamin B12, iron, nucleic acids RNA & DNA, chlorophyll and phycocyanin.
Adding Spirulina into a cleanse is a no brainer, but it should also be added pre and post cleansing. In a nutrient deficient world of fast food, chemical and environmental pollution a superfood like spirulina allows the body to have vitality, energy and health. I personally would have it in your kitchen like you have water, always on demand.
